千代鶴是秀 （本名 加藤 廣） 1874～1957

Chiyozuru Korehide (born Kato Hiroshi)
1874 – 1957

米沢藩代々の刀匠の家系を受ける、二代目長運斎綱俊の息子。
11歳で鍛冶屋の道に入る。七代石堂に師事、八代石堂（叔父）に学ぶ。
叔父の亡き後、19歳で是秀と名乗る。
明治・大正・昭和にかけての不世出の名工。
昭和32年、東京中目黒で84歳で亡くなる。

Born to a lineage of swordsmiths for the Uesugi clan in Yonezawa; son to the swordsmith Chouunsai Tsunatoshi II
Became a blacksmith at the age of 11. Apprenticed to Ishido VII and studied under Ishido VIII (his uncle)
Takes the name Korehide at the age of 19 after his uncle dies
Becomes one of the great kanna bladesmiths during the Meiji, Taisho and Showa periods
Dies at age 84 in Nakameguro, Tokyo in 1957

千代鶴貞秀 （本名 神吉義良） 1908～1999

Chiyozuru Sadahide (born Kanki Yoshiryo)
1908 – 1999

三木生まれ。鉋鍛冶の長兄に弟子入りし、18歳の時に是秀の鉋と出会う。
20歳の時、三木を離れ上京。何度も門をたたき、21歳で入門を許される。
昭和7年(1932)三木に帰郷。昭和24年(1949)是秀師から千代鶴貞秀の銘を受ける。
昭和26年から平成2年にかけ、播州三木で千代鶴の名に恥じぬ
各々の賞を受け、現代の名工として二代目を育てる。

昭和51年「吉田五十八賞」、同55年「労働大臣賞」
同57年には「黄綬褒章」を受賞。ほか多数受賞。

Born in Miki; apprentices as a blacksmith under his older brother; encounters a Korehide kanna at the age of 18
Leaves Miki at the age of 20 for Tokyo to entreat Korehide to accept him as an apprentice; is finally accepted at the age of 21
Returns to Miki in 1932; receives the name Chiyozuru Sadahide from Korehide in 1949
Works in Miki from 1951 to 1990; is honored with numerous awards for blacksmithing worthy of the Chiyozuru name; works as a modern shokunin (master craftsman) grooming a successor to the Chiyozuru Sadahide signature.
Receives the Yoshida Isoya Prize in 1976, the Labor Minister Prize in 1980, and the Medal with a Yellow Ribbon in 1982, as well as numerous other awards

二代目千代鶴貞秀 （本名 神吉岩雄） 1944～

1944 -

三木生まれ。16歳の時、父、千代鶴貞秀に弟子入りする。
平成2年(1990)、二代目千代鶴貞秀を襲名（単に親から子へというものではなく地元の有識者を含む広がりある第三者による評価、推挙によって）
平成10年(1998)　経済産業大臣指定伝統的工芸品 播州三木打刃物 伝統工芸士認定。
同年「ABANA(北米芸術鍛冶屋協会)」にアジアで唯一の招待実演者として参加。
ABS(American Bladesmith Society)名誉会員。
国際的な場でも活動している。
平成10年　三木市技能顕功賞受賞
平成15年　三木市ロータリークラブより表彰
平成21年　兵庫県技能顕功賞受賞
平成25年度 全国伝統的工芸品公募展　日本伝統工芸士会長賞　受賞
平成28年 中兵庫信用金庫より「なかしんふるさと賞」受賞
現在、弟子一人育成中。

Only craftsman from Asia to present a demonstration at the Artist-Blacksmith’s Association of North America (ABANA) in 1998
Honorary member of the American Bladesmith Society (ABS).
Receives the Miki City Achievement Award in 1998
Commended by the Miki City Rotary Club in 2003
Receives the Hyogo Prefecture Technical Achievement Award in 2009
Receives the Association of Traditional Japanese Craftsmen Director’s Prize at the Japan Traditional Craft Competition in 2013

2001年　玉川大学文学部芸術学科彫刻専攻　卒業
2004年　二代目千代鶴貞秀のもとに弟子入り
2008年　千代鶴直秀の号を授かる。
2014年　「産地選抜　第1回　DENSAN　ザ・職人展」初出品
2014年　「伝統工芸ふれあい広場　渋谷ヒカリエ2014　秋」　出品
2015年　「産地選抜　第2回　DENSAN　ザ・職人展」　出品
2015年5月 イタリア・ミラノにて伝統的工芸品を集めたポップアップショップ「ミラノスクエア」にて実演
2017年2月 経済産業大臣指定伝統的工芸品 播州三木打刃物 伝統工芸士認定
2019年2月 「三代目千代鶴貞秀」を襲名
